Photos: Kings Cross Station, Waverly Station, English and Scottish Countryside

Here are my pictures taken while in transit between the two cities, both coming and going. :D

Here's a sad story:

We booked my train ticket online in advance on my mum's credit card. We didn't see the very fine print that stated I had to show the card I paid with when I picked up my ticket. I got to the station, and went to the counter and the guy told me I couldn't have the ticket I paid for because I didn't have the card which was at home in Canada. I already had paid for accommodations in Edinburgh, so I really had to go. So he made me pay for a new ticket, which was 115 pounds, 40 pounds more than my original ticket. (For those people who don't know the conversion rate, multiply 115 by 1.5 and you get the Canadian price. Ouch.)

On top of that, the credit card my dad had set up for me didn't work, and I had to pay it in cash, which left me a lot lower in cash than I had intended. D: It was also a later train (because the one I was originally supposed to go on was full) so I was late to meet the lady for my apartment! What a disaster! DX

Lesson learned. The hard way.

I couldn't find platform 9 3/4! D': I really must be a muggle! Noooooooooo!

(And wasn't Harry on that bridge in the background with Hagrid in the first movie when he hands him the ticket? >:D)

What a beautiful day!

< What is this building? I can't remember what station this was by. (I think it might have been Newcastle?) I think it looks like a shiny caterpillar. >:D
And now my pictures of the return trip. Not nearly as many, as the dark day meant everything was too blurry to post.

Sitting in Edinburgh Waverly Station.

What's that? My trip to Edinburgh, over already? Don't worry, those pictures are next!

(And my story of woe continues!)

Look forward to: Edinburgh, Scotland Day 1 (Part 1)

August Update

August already?! Time flies! DX

So behind on everything I don't even know where to begin! Got to start working double-time on my projects for FanExpo. And continue posting my pictures, as I am now behind on 2 trips! Sigh...

I went to Quebec this past month with my family. I will post those pictures after the UK.

I was in the music video of some cosplaying friends of mine at the beginning of June, which debuted at ConBravo (I believe). A fan-made production for the song "This isn't Hogwarts". So yeah, if you haven't already guessed it, I pulled out my Gryffindor robes for this! However, I didn't go as Ginny--as my hair is far too short and no longer ginger--but as Ron instead. We had a maroon wig in the closet that worked quite well for an impromptu Ron costume! (Also they needed a Ron, so that worked out quite well!) Be sure to check out the video and go comment if you like it! They worked really hard on it and did a great job! :D (Ron approves!)

A funny story about when we were filming: We were filming on the U of T campus, because it looks kind of like Hogwarts, but there were also lots of people taking wedding pictures, and we were really worried we would be asked to leave. But actually, quite the opposite happened! One of the brides really liked Harry Potter, and asked us to be in a few of her wedding photos! XD While we were posing with her, she raised her bouquet and said, "My wand is roses!" XD

I like her dress. :D So fluffy!

I don't think I make a very good Ron. Too stiff. D: And there's my scarf that I knitted all through grade 12. In class. And no teacher ever told me off. XD (Probably because I was still listening?) And I still have yet to fix the costume... It has gotten more wear out of it than I thought! I never expected to be in a music video! XD

I clearly don't take credit for the pictures, seeing how I'm in them. lol Credit goes to Mike Kowalek. :D You can view the full gallery here:

Went to the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt 2 Premiere! Very exciting! It was a great end to a spectacular series! Wore my robes, of course, but it was nameless female Gryffindor, and not Ron. It was quite hot out, I didn't think I would be able to stand wearing a scarf, a wig, and long pants.

Still working on that skirt. It needs a zipper, so I have to make a trip to Fabricland and pick up a few things. The bows are done, and the owl bags are all in progress now. I hope I have time to make everything (including my costume(s?)) for FanExpo!!! Need to order wigs, which probably won't get here in time... sigh.

My bike got fixed! ... And then 2 weeks later the seat got stolen. So I'm back to having no bike again! D,:

Still haven't overhauled my blog. Maybe I'll do it this month? XD

Photos: London, England Day 4

Day 4 I explored Camden Town, with all it's markets with the full intent of doing some shopping. (Or at least scoping things out for a return visit!)

I don't think I've ever seen so many pocket watches in my entire life! :D

I decided not to get any of these shoes.

Kinda wanted one of these panda bags, but no room in my suitcase for anything that big! XD

Lots of wicked looking storefronts. Even the nuns were enjoying themselves.

Awesome chairs! >:D

Dead skin eating fish. Too scary for me to try! D:

I had a crepe for lunch. It looked like it would be amazing, but it was rather disappointing actually. D:

I hung out by the locks while I ate.

They had some really cool punk, goth, EGL, neo-victorian clothes. I was hard-pressed to decide which one I wanted to buy.

I found my jacket's twin! They apparently are still selling this jacket, only no longer in brown like I have! XD

Cyberdog was still going strong. (Although in a different location than I recall?) Lots of really neat, and really expensive stuff in there!

This bird was trying really hard to open this lunch. But no luck. XD

Went home to pack for my train the next day!

Next up: Kings Cross Station, Waverly Station, English and Scottish Countryside
