First and foremost, I have finally done a photoshoot of my Forest Guardian costume. As evidenced by my brand new banner! ;D Pretty rad huh? Still tweaking the colour scheme of the blog to match the new banner... toned down the orange a bit...
Special thanks to Mike (EleventhPhotograph) for doing this in subzero temperatures. The pics look fantastic! I can't believe I did this in -15 degrees. Did I mention this costume is made of really breatheable cotton?! I still have all my toes though.
Apparently I missed my own blogiversary this week? I can't believe I have been doing this for 4 years of my life? This year has been quite eventful, lots of costumes started, but not lots of costume finished. Which is a regret of mine. I hope in the coming year that I can focus on completing my started projects (like Toph, Vaporeon, maybe even Presea?), and also maybe actually blog about my completed projects (Sakura-chan? What happened??)...
Another regret of mine is that the blog has fallen into such bad disrepair. I have tons of broken links/photos and the ongoing rotation issues in my old posts... It is going to take some serious work to re-vamp the blog. Which I can't guarantee happening before I finish my degree. I must finish university so I can have some of my sanity back.
The highlights of this year include The Forest Guardian, Steampunk Air Captain, Isabelle, Toothless, and my various versions of CardCaptor Sakura. This year I also added lots of new skills to my arsenal like corsetry, tailoring, embroidery, and special effects makeup! I look forward to exploring those more in future costuming endeavors.
Today my show closed, which marks the last show I will do with Ryerson Theatre School. A bit sad, but I think I am ready to move on. Now for that degree... This is the homestretch people!
I have just submitted some of my designs to Prague Quadrennial, which is an international theatre design exhibition (in Prague), coming up this summer. We'll see if I make it in? My submissions included my Forest Guardian, set design for My Fair Lady and some preliminary designs from my upcoming independent study. Which I should really be working on...
That's all for now folks!

April Update
Hello everyone! Hope you had a good April! Mine was less productive than I would have liked, which is why very few of my projects have been posted... but more on that later! The weather here has been dreadful, which means that all the things I have to do outside have been put on hold. It better get nice soon...
My trip photos have kind of taken over the blog! XD I hope you are enjoying them, and living vicariously through my pictures. If not, I apologize, as there are still lots more to come! I'm trying to cut down on the number of pictures per post, but I find it extremely hard to be that selective! As is, I've gone through more than 2500 pictures already, and as you can see not all of them have been posted! I'm hoping to finish those posts by the end of May/early June.
In other news: I was excepted to my first choice school! :D Ryerson's Theatre: Performance Production Program! Now I get to study on how to make a career out of making costumes! Awesome!!! My interview was on the 5th, and it went quite well! One of my interviewers actually went to my high school, what a coincidence! XD Anyway, thanks for all your support people! I shall be declining my acceptances to other universities and colleges, so I wish the people who get my spots all the best!
As for my 2 projects promised/hinted at in my March update: 1 is finished, but I need to do a photoshoot, the other is at about 65% completion. Those will hopefully come soon. Especially since I am wearing the second one to Anime North this year. I need to buy more feathers... sigh. So expensive... I'm also re-vamping my Viral costume to enter in the Masquerade this year with my sister and her boyfriend. Lots to do!
In other, other news (speaking of expensive!): I'm going to London this June! Long story short: I found out my airmiles weren't going to amount to a free flight to anywhere I want after this summer--meaning that they still would get a free flight, but the amount required to fly to certain international locations was going up. So I had to spend them! XD My original intention for these points was to fly to Japan next summer, but in light of recent disasters, those plans were crushed indefinitely. I'm staying with family in London, which should be fun! And I'm planning on taking a jaunt up to Edinburgh in Scotland while I'm there, but I'm having trouble finding a decent place to stay... :/ We'll see.
My friend and I did not get a table at Anime North this year. We got waitlisted, but I don't have high hopes of a last minute acceptance. I plan, however, to sell some of my hair accessories, bags and aprons on ETSY this summer. (Probably July-August) More on that in later months.
I think that's it for now!

March Update
Hello everyone! Lots of great projects coming up in the next few months. :D Especially as I have a portfolio interview for Performance Production @ Ryerson on April 5th. Lots of stuff to prep.
I'm applying to get a Crafter's Corner Table at Anime North this year with a friend of mine, so hopefully that works out. I'll let you know.
I am leaving for a trip to Europe today, so I won't be posting anything for a little over a week. But I will be posting plenty of pictures when I get back. You can count on it. Definitely.
I finally got a haircut, and dyed my hair orange. It looks awesome! :D I'll post some pictures when I return.
I have to do a sewing test for my application to George Brown's Fashion Design program when I get back. Definitely an easy pass! >:D
Still haven't posted any of my work in my sketchbook... :/ I'll do that soon. They're piling up. I only have 4 pages left in my sketchbook. XD I'll be sure to post the best ones.
Here's some preview (teaser) pics of the next 2 projects!
Aaaand that's all you get for now! Are you excited? :D I know I am.
